Now that my new website is officially up and running, I have a lot of sessions to catch up on, and here’s a favorite-Jon and Micaela’s engagement session on Huntington Beach at Lake Erie!
I got to make a road trip to Ohio for this one, which was a perfect excuse to stay at my big sister’s house in Hartville and spend some quality time with her. I also packed in a couple more photo sessions that weekend which made it so fun!

Jon & Micaela’s wedding is one I’ve been looking forward to for a longgg time. Basically since I first met Micaela! Jon is one of my cousins and a great friend. I have a lot of cousins, and we all became close as we grew up together, and stayed close, even though we now live all over the country. One of our favorite things to do is have “Cousin Breakfasts,” where someone hosts all the cousins that for a few hours on a Sunday morning and we all bring food and drink coffee and catch up on life. It’s been happening for years now, and those that still live in PA are carrying on the tradition. (It takes a wedding or large event to bring us ALLL together, but it still happens! A cousin breakfast will be happening in Ohio after this wedding, you can count on it. I love my huge family!)

Jon is one of those strong, kind, and sensitive people, and when we cousins always knew that the girl  that Johnny chose would need to be pretty amazing! When we met Micaela we all thought that she was just perfect for him.  I love watching them together; they have such a sweet relationship! I was beyond excited when they asked me to shoot their wedding this fall; it’s going to be so special. Also I get to see all my cousins again!

I made the trip up to Cleveland, Micaela’s home, to shoot their engagement photos in June. It was my first time at Lake Erie, and this session was a sweet one! The sky was cloudy until the end, where we got some beautiful glow. (Also, isn’t Micaela’s engagement ring stunning? The sun came out right as I was shooting it and the sunlight on the diamond and the sand around it made it sparkle!)

Afterward we went out for dinner with my sister Abby & her husband Javon (since they also live near Cleveland) and talked wedding details and all about life and work and engagement, and basically caught up on the past year. Love these two more than I can say-can’t wait for their wedding at Thorn Creek Winery in September!

Enjoy my favorites from their engagement session at Lake Erie!
