I photographed this wedding way back in the beginning of June, but it feels like it just happened! Layz S Ranch in Palmyra is a gorgeous wedding venue in the heart of Virginia, with barns full of natural light and open fields and long fences. I loved shooting here; so much variety and beauty!
Aaron and Morgan’s wedding was beautiful, sacred, and worshipful. These two have a deep relationship with Jesus and that was so obvious throughout their wedding!
This couple has strong ties with their family and community. Aaron’s family travelled to Virginia from states away to celebrate with him. Morgan’s lovely bridesmaids were all her sisters (one of them also made the wooden ring boxes engraved with Aaron & Morgan’s initials!) Morgan’s aunt MADE her wedding dress, which was beautifully layered with lace. I loved the soft pink that Morgan chose for her bridesmaids, complimented by the florals tied with ribbon.
One of my favorite moments of the day was Aaron & Morgan’s first look-I never get tired of seeing the look on the groom’s face when he sees his bride for the first time.
We shot portraits in the wide open fields around Layz S Ranch and enjoyed the beautiful warm weather. (The weather called for 100% rain; it rained the entire drive up and back, but held off for the wedding. It couldn’t have been more perfect!)
Love these getting ready photos!
The ceremony was held in one of the venue’s beautiful wooden barns. Bagpipes played as Morgan walked down the aisle, and I loved seeing Aaron’s expression as he looked at his bride!
The couple wrote vows to each other in addition to tradition vows, which usually makes me tear up at weddings, and this one was no exception. Morgan’s sister sang as Aaron and Morgan took communion together, signifying the importance of their commitment to Christ.
The reception was beautifully decorated with wildflowers, lace, and romantic details. I loved the way Morgan included books and quotes from the classics in the details! The head table displayed the Barclay family crest, a nod to their Scottish heritage.
The family toasted the couple and blessed them in their marriage, as well as telling a few funny stories. I loved catching some of the sweet moments during Aaron & Morgan’s first dance as husband and wife!
Aaron and Morgan were sent off with bubbles and loud cheering, to their honeymoon exploring Europe together!
Aaron and Morgan, I genuinely enjoyed your day! It was an honor to capture it for you and I wish you the absolute best in your marriage and in life!
