I spent a very short day and a half in Outer Banks North Carolina earlier this week, in an attempt to have a mini vacation, and unfortunately a hurricane changed all that. BUT this post is not about the things we missed out on this week. Instead I’m sharing some photos that I shot one evening on the beach that I’m kind of obsessed with.

First of all, I have some really cool friends. When I first moved down to Virginia I barely new anyone, and the people that I did know weren’t more than acquaintances. My husband’s friends welcomed me into their circles with enthusiasm, and I’m so grateful for the friendships that have formed since I’ve called Virginia home. I never realized how many friends I was surrounded with back home, and how influential those relationships were. The blessing of being given friendships like that even after moving to another state is something that I don’t take for granted.

I shot few photos on the beach for these wonderful couples who I also get to call my friends.
Derek makes Ashley laugh and it was fun to see them interact in front of the camera. Derek & Ashley you guys are so cute together!

Dalen & Kendra are expecting their first baby in December, and we are so excited for them! Kendra was stunning in her pink dress, and while we were shooting these, the sky started turning all kinds of colors. It was breathtaking! I told Kendra that if it’s a girl she should name it Florence, after the hurricane. But I don’t think she’s going to take me up on that idea. I mean, I get it, maybe you wouldn’t want to name your child after a hurricane; it might be some kind of personality prediction! 🙂

Tyler and Margaret have been in front of my camera quite a few times since I shot their wedding 2 years ago, which is so fun! (For me at least, I won’t speak for them! :))
Love these two and their sweet relationship.

So maybe our time at Outer Banks was too short. At least we made some memories!
Thankful for all of you!

xoxo,
Jess

Ashley and I love these pictures you took and we are glad you got to come along on the “vacation”. I wish we could have stayed at the beach for longer because the conversations, games, and fun was just getting better. But we got a lot packed in a short time! You’re a talented photographer!
