Rob & Emily || Engagement Session-Virginia Wedding Photographer
Big fields, tall grass, beautiful skies. Virginia is such a pretty state to take photos, and Rob & Emily’s engagement session was such a good one! I met Emily when I took her sister Abby’s senior portraits, and I’m so excited to now be getting to know Rob & Emily and their family better during their wedding day in June! We had overcast skies and a little bit of rain during this session, but the light was so soft and pretty and Rob & Emily gladly tromped through the tall grass for me for photos.
Engagement sessions are so important to me, for several reasons. First of all, I get to know my couples better; how they interact with each other, their personalities, their love story, and all the little things that can’t be communicated over email.
Second, my couples get to know me better, and what it’s like to be in front of my camera! When the wedding day comes, they are basically pros and can relax and have fun while we’re shooting. Engagement sessions help wedding days go more smoothly!
Lastly, my couples get lots of fun photos to use for save the dates, invitations, decor, or whatever they choose to use them for. You’re only engaged for a short time of your life, so why not save those memories!
These two are perfect together! I loved the dress that Emily chose for the more formal photos at the ponds. And her ring? SO gorgeous!! Check out my favorites from their engagement session.
Even though I call myself a Virginia Wedding Photographer, I still shoot weddings out of state. However I absolutely love booking weddings right here in Virginia, in my small town of Farmville, and Rob & Emily will be getting married just a short drive from my house!
Rob & Emily, I can’t wait for your wedding day-it’s going to be so beautiful. So happy that I get the honor of being a part of it, and getting to know the two of you better.
