A Pennsylvania Family Session
Photographing my sister and her family is a yearly treat for me. We spent Memorial Day weekend in Pennsylvania and we took a few minutes the one evening to do these photos, at the farm where we grew up. My sister is a beautiful, joyful, patient mom and an inspiration to me! She’s helped me so much through my transition to motherhood is always trying to make life easier for me in little ways, even though we live states away. I love watching her and her husband raise their little family with joy and sacrificial love. I felt like these photos truly captured the essence of their family.
I love this quote from a book I’m reading called Loving the Little Years.
“Motherhood is hard work. It is repetitive and often times menial. Accept it. Rejoice in it. This is your toil. Right here. Those are their faces. Enjoy them. The days of your life are supposed to be full of things like this. But joy is not giddy. It is not an emotional rush-it is what happens when you accept your lot and rejoice in your toil. So rejoice in your children. Look them in the eyes and give thanks. You will not even remember the work of all this planting when the harvest of joy overwhelms you.”
Enjoy my favorites from this sweet Pennsylvania Family Session!
Could you guess that these photos were taken in 15 minutes max and that over in the pond there were 6 more siblings and a dog splashing around? 🙂 That’s what I love about family sessions. You don’t need much to create magic.
