what to expect

The elevated, emotional images you love all start with the relationship we create. That genuine connection and care means that I understand what’s most important to you and it helps you feel more at ease in front of my camera
.
Think about it — I’m nearby all day for one of the biggest moments of your life. You deserve more than a stranger with a bunch of cameras.

All that means we’ll create meaningful artwork that preserves exactly how your wedding day feels.

Building relationships

It's the heart of what I do

charlottesville wedding photographer

Relationships have always been a central part of my life. I grew up in a big family on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania. My upbringing instilled in me the value of hard work, community, and real connection.

But it wasn’t all cows. Art was all around. I played music, painted, drew. At 16, I picked up a camera and found my passion. Photography combines life with art in the most beautiful way, something I will forever be perfecting.

I stumbled upon wedding photography when a friend asked me to be her second shooter. I definitely didn’t know what I was doing,

but I fell head over heels. I actually went home that night and wrote in my journal: (yes, I keep a journal) “If I could shoot weddings as a full time job for the rest of my life, I would be happy!”

Years later, and the excitement and anticipation I feel before each wedding day ... it’s truly incredible.

Today, I live out in the gorgeous countryside of Central Virginia with my husband Steve and our daughter, Evelyn. But just like when I grew up, I love opening my home to friends and family and lingering over dinner and coffee.

Virginia inspires my love of nature. Nothing fills me with more inspiration than a day outside on our farm. You can often find me soaking up the beauty of those summer sunsets, usually with Evy not far behind.

WIDE OPEN SPACES

We strive for a slower pace of life at our farm out in the country. It's the perfect place to raise our daughter, surrounded by animals and nature. No matter how far we travel, our favorite place is home.

I started playing violin at 10, and it continues to be one of my favorite things in the world. Listening to Bach or Mozart is—in my opinion—the best accompaniment for daily life activities.

CLASSICAL MUSIC

Give me a cozy blanket on a winter evening, a mug of hot tea (Earl Grey, please), and a good book. A quiet few hours with my nose in the classics is my favorite way to recharge.
