Backyard Farm Wedding | Ethan & Megan
A Pennsylvania farm, an old farmhouse, a ceremony out in the fields. Gorgeous flowers and elegant details, close family ties, worship, prayer. Just a few of the things that I loved most about this day. Megan and Ethan’s wedding day was so beautiful and so God-centered, and I was so honored to be there for it all!
I always enjoy shooting weddings for friends, especially if it gives me an excuse to go back home for a weekend! Megan & Ethan got married in Megan’s hometown of Honey Brook, the same little town in Pennsylvania where I grew up. Their farm is just a short drive from my family’s farm. I’ve known Megan for years..our families were close and Megan was like a little sister to me! The fact that we lived on dairy farms and lived very similar lives strengthened our families’ connection. Having my sister and cousin, and three of Megan’s sisters in the bridal party was an added fun bonus! It was basically like a big childhood friend reunion.
I’ve been so excited to share these photos with you all. What a gorgeous day! Enjoy scrolling through my favorites from Ethan and Megan’s backyard farm wedding!
Megan’s details were fabulous.
Getting ready photos in the farmhouse where Megan spent her childhood years. The photo of her at the window was taken in her old bedroom!
The flower girl and ring bearer outfits ready to go. This was so cute!
The first look.
We shot these portraits at Megan’s Grandma’s house! She has beautiful flower gardens and an old stone farmhouse that was perfect for photos.
So in love with these bouquets by my cousin Hadassah, owner of Thistle Do Flower Co. It was so fun having her in the bridal party too!
The ceremony! Love the shot of Megan and her dad on the long walk from the house to the ceremony spot.
Also, the smoke bombs at the end were a really fun surprise, even if they did nearly choke everyone involved AND get purple dust all over Megan’s dress! She took it in stride and washed it out, good as new!
My favorite portraits of the day. Mr. & Mrs. Elsbecker!
The reception was stunning! The tables were full of flowers, lush greenery, and fruit. Megan is an incredible chef and she made the wedding cake herself!
Megan and Ethan introduced their bridal party, and wrote something special for each of them. So sweet!
A few more portraits up in the fields as the sun was going down. Such a pretty view! And we had some extra smoke bombs so we had to do an epic shot with those 🙂
Goodbyes are hard.
The sparkler send off! So thankful I got to photograph your day for you Ethan and Megan! Wishing you the best as you begin married life in Colorado.
