Brandon & Anna’s wedding at Gaie Lea
Brandon & Anna dreamed up a sweet wedding celebration that was laid back and relaxed, full of classic details and beautiful flowers, all centered around their favorite people. An outdoor ceremony under one of Gaie Lea’s grandiose oak trees, a poolside cocktail hour, an a reception under the pavilion as the sun set. With green and cream as the dominant colors and beautiful gold accents in the details, this country estate wedding in Charlottesville was the most stunning combination of romantic elegance and relaxed hospitality.
The Venue
Gaie Lea, translated from old English means “Happy Meadows.” Located in historic Staunton, Virginia, this beautiful country estate wedding venue features traditional southern charm and endless possibilities for a wedding day — beautiful getting ready spaces, an outdoor ceremony location on the lawn, deliciously fresh farm-to-table fare enjoyed al fresco in the pavilion, a private poolside cocktail hour, and more.

The Details
Anna’s details were beautifully classic, and brought accents of gold to the green and white color palette. The house and bridal suite at Gaie Lea featured antique furniture and lots of natural light, creating a perfect canvas for the design of the wedding day.

The Colors
Anna’s girls wore sage green dresses complimented by white bouquets with soft greenery. The groom and groomsmen wore beige suits that gave the affair a relaxed, backyard garden party vibe. The foliage of August was just hinting at some fall yellows and made the most stunning backdrop to the portraits.

The Ceremony
Brandon & Anna exchanged vows under Gaie Lea’s historic oak tree in the lawn, in front of a gorgeous floral installation by Honeybees. Everyone was crying!

Cocktail Hour
Post ceremony, the guests gathered around the pool to enjoy cocktails, apps, and live music, and a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The bride and groom’s top priority was spending time with their guests, and after some family photos, mingled with their favorite people and enjoyed the party.

The Reception
After the ceremony guests made their way to the pavilion, where dinner and dancing awaited. This beautiful spot is open and inviting, with extra space for guests to comfortably enjoy a view of the lake and conversation outside the pavilion. The atmosphere was joyous as Brandon & Anna were announced and the dance floor was packed until the final song!

This country estate wedding in Charlottesville was breathtaking in every way! What an honor to document the love of such a kind and beautiful couple. Gaie Lea is a a hidden gem for a Virginia wedding that is both elegant and inviting, historic and accommodating.
