The most beautiful, romantic session with Austin & Natalie at Waterperry Farm! Happy two years to these two lovers! So fun to have Austin & Natalie in front of my camera again.

This location is seriously one of my favorites in Charlottesville. It has almost a European Garden vibe. So serene, romantic, private. Beautiful pools, manicured lawns, arches brimming with blooms. Both a secluded garden, and a view of the mountains. In planning this session with Austin & Natalie I wanted a location that would give me the feeling of a quiet, summer evening romance and this couldn’t have been more perfect.

Why I love film:

The colors of film are so creamy and full of richness. It is almost like a painting. I love how film handles both harsh light and overcast days. I love the depth of shadows and tones. Shooting film forces me to slow down, and truly understand light and how it works. It keeps me intentional with cropping and composition. It keeps me patient. Shooting primarily on film for this session made the most romantic portraits, especially with the overcast day.
