King Family Vineyards Family Session

I’ve done LOTS of family sessions this summer and Fall, and I rarely have time to blog them. I may add some more to the blog in the future, but I wanted to share this family session in particular, because of how much I love it.

The thing about this session was not the perfection of it. Poor Nora was not keen on family photos that day and just wanted mom 🙂 It was a little chilly and windy, not ideal weather (although always beautiful views at King Family Vineyards!) What I loved about this session was how real life comes through.

If there was one thing I would want for every mom with small children who books a session with me to hear, it would be this message: don’t force it. Let the kids lead, and let go of any expectation of perfection. The best photos, in my opinion, are not forced or studio-stiff, but real, natural moments, photographed as they happen. Jane and her husband Steve did this so well, and that is why these images have that spark of magic!
