November Engagement Session | Austin & Natalie

November Engagement Session | Austin & Natalie

This November engagement session with Austin and Natalie may be one of my new favorites!

When I asked them where they wanted to do their session, I suggested DC or somewhere in Northern Virginia, closer to where they live. But Natalie said, “Well, we would love to do them at your house?” My first thought was,
“UM, FOR REAL? OF COURSE!” There’s nothing I love more than doing photos in my backyard…there isn’t anything glamorous about it, but I love the simplicity and peacefulness of it, and the way the light falls at sunset. After their session we just hung out and talked on our porch….it was such a great evening.

I had such a hard time narrowing down photos to share, but here are some of the ones I LOVE.

Her dress and his uniform. It does’t get better!

I loved these casual photos we took down by the woods. The neutral colors Austin and Natalie wore and Fall leaves complimented each other in the best way. Also, it was close to 80 degrees that afternoon! So rare for November. Natalie wasn’t planning on that when she picked her outfit but I’m so glad she wore that sweater…it was so cute on her!

I’ve taken photos of Natalie ever since I met her in 2017, when she was a student at Longwood University. We met randomly, at a coffee shop where I used to work. I did some photos with her and her friends just for fun. Then, I photographed her sister Nicole’s wedding! In the following years I did family photos multiple times with Natalie’s family, and I enjoyed getting to know them all better in the process. I’m so thankful that I know them, and that they continually ask me to photograph their important moments. When Natalie and Austin got engaged, I was so honored to excited that she asked me to be her photographer. There is something really special about clients who become friends over the years!

Austin and Natalie are getting married next Fall at East View Farms and Venue, and I have no doubt that their wedding is going to be classy and beautiful!

xoxo!
Jess
