October Recap

As you probably know, October is the busiest month of the year for those of us in the photography industry! In spite of my constant effort to keep my editing manageable, this month I’ve been pretty overwhelmed with the amount of editing on my plate, and blogging all of the beautiful photos I’ve been shooting has not been my top priority.

I’ve decided to do a recap of the month instead! It has truly been a month of beauty and I’m just so grateful for all the clients that I’ve been able to serve! So take a scroll through a few highlights from October.

Sam & Kessly got married at Renback Barn! I LOVE this sweet couple. They are high school sweethearts and just have that young love magic about them but also are rooted and grounded in the things that truly matter. During their reception we had the most stunning golden hour and we went out and shot photos with the Blue Ridge Mountains and the background, some of my favorite photos ever.

We had our own family photos taken! I cannot say enough about my talented friend Charlotte Freed, who captured our season in life so perfectly. These truly are real life right now (except that we rarely get dressed up like this) and I want to bottle up these memories forever. Yearly photo album, Christmas cards, picture frames, I just want these EVERYWHERE.

Now for a few family sessions with some of my favorite people!

My sister & brother in law at their farm in the early morning. Jaw dropping beauty isn’t it? I’m not sure if I should be jealous of their view or if I just need to put these on a calendar…

Jason & Cynthia & their three beautiful girls! We still miss my nephew Landon every day since he passed in July of last year. He would have been 8 this year. “Hope” is what they continue to hold on to, and is also what they named their newest little girl, who has brought so much joy to all of us!

Ben & Chrissy, my brother & sister in law, at their gorgeous rustic homestead that Ben built and Chrissy made a home. Love them and the memories our kiddos are already making together.

And now to one of my favorite couples, Nathan & Courtney! I photographed their gorgeous wedding in 2022 and now they are celebrating their 2nd anniversary. We have so much in common and I just love hanging out with them! We took these photos at King Family Vineyards and the Autumn colors are what photographer dreams are made of.

And last but not at all least, Hunter & Katie’s sweet engagement session at the farm! This couple is fun and romantic and a little shy in front of the camera. Combine those things you get my FAVORITE KIND OF PHOTOS. Also. A little plug for sessions at my house. Evening light is so pretty here and the location options are limitless. Hunter & Katie you guys are stunning!

So there you have it: an October recap! I love this month… busy season is always a bit bittersweet as I look ahead to the winter months of hibernating at home and catching up on projects and the back end of my business, and preparing for the coming year.

Love all of you and thank you for your continued support. For booking sessions, scrolling through my blog posts, taking the time to comment on an Instagram post, referring me to your friends. I see it all and I appreciate it all..wouldn’t have this business with you.

xoxo!!
Jess
