8 simple ways to add flowers to your wedding design

The secret to a beautiful wedding, in my opinion, is not extravagant design or trying to do something that no one else has done before-it’s great florals! While the classic bridal bouquet is not going anywhere, there are dozens of ways to add flowers to different elements of your wedding day. Many are simple and budget friendly, but will require a great floral designer to pull them off. I always recommend that couples invest in an experienced florist, because they can take any wedding design from good to great.

Here are 8 simple ways to add flowers to your wedding design!

1. Flower Box Seating Chart

A welcome sign or seating chart with flowers spilling out of flower boxes is a beautiful way to add to your guest welcome experience. Flowers can make anything look luxurious and elegant! I book a lot of couples who want a romantic, garden party feel for their wedding day, and a flower box seating chart is a lovely element to give that garden party feel.

2. Ring Corsages

The ring corsage: a unique and beautiful element that adds a wow-factor to your wedding day. A delightful twist on the standard corsage, this is perfect for bridesmaids, mother of the bride & groom or grandmothers, these will have your guests asking “how did you do that?”

3. Petal Toss

I adore a petal toss post-ceremony. The easiest way to add romance and flair to your wedding design, and a fun way to get your guests involved in the celebration. Share a kiss halfway down the aisle and you’ll have photos that will become your first family heirlooms.

4. Aisle Flowers

While we’re on the topic of flower petals, aisle flowers are so stunning and will take your ceremony space to a new level. If lining both sides of the aisle with florals isn’t in the budget, ask your florist about lining the aisle with petals, and creating a meadow of florals at the back. Dreamy.

5. Flower Baskets

Flower baskets add a unique and lavish look to an outdoor event. Loose, organic flowers spilling over woven baskets is one of my favorite ceremony looks.

Especially perfect for an intimate outdoor garden party, this Spring design by Walsh Events and florals by Steel Cut Flower Co. is the definition of gorgeous.
